Abstract
Modern personal computer memory includes several microchips placed on the one circuit board (module). There is Read Only Memory (ROM) always presented in every module. ROM is needed for storing data that has to be stored and used without any changes.
As a rule, the ROM module contains computer software responsible for loading the operating system while the PC is switching on.
The main ROM microchip containing the main BIOS code, places on the motherboard. BIOS subprograms and drivers, required to activate and start all the system components, are located on the adapter card.
It goes without saying that chips ROM placed in the Random Access Memory (RAM) module, have to be fully compatible with the motherboard of Brand Name class devices. Being used mostly in brand computers, Kingston and Transcend memory cards for laptop and PC fully meet the requirements listed above.Today the most common RAM in laptops and stationary PC is Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM). DRAM chip divides in a DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 type. Rarely EDO and FPM memory is used in Brand Name devices.
